Who's Who...... or are they the same??

Wednesday, March 31

So Shawn and I are curious if you all know Hannah and KaeLee?? I showed some pictures to Shawn and he didn't get them all right.... so it led me to post a blog and a poll to see if you could guess correctly....

So look at the following pictures and answer the poll question to the right.... we will post the correct answer in a weel or so. Have fun and good luck!

A day of discovery......

Tuesday, March 29

Well, Hannah is 3 weeks old today! Yay! Can't believe it's been that long already, really. Well, KaeLee and I learned a few new things today. I'm sure Hannah did to, but not sure what it is....

I learned that it is extremely difficult to open a TV tray with one hand.... haha. I suppose I could have just sat down at the table to eat my lunch, but I was holding Hannah, and the dining room chairs don't have arms on them, nor do they rock.... hahaha. I'm sure you are thinking, "why don't you just put Hannah down?" Well, she has not allowed that much lately! She was asleep and I just wanted to eat my lunch without worrying about a crying baby. However, I then had to go to the bathroom, so I ended up putting her down anyway, and she actually stayed asleep for nearly 2 hours!! AMAZING!! KaeLee was also asleep, so I got super excited and started cleaning up and getting some much needed tasks accomplished. An hour and a half later, I realized that they were both sleeping and I didn't take a shower!! *sigh* So I got some stuff done around the house, but did not get a shower in today. Rats. So, needless to say..... I feel icky! I think I need to go to the eye doctor again, because I got another horrible headache today.... every day for over a week now, I've had one right behind the eyes. I'm pretty sure I need a new prescription. Ugh. The last time I went to the eye doctor, KaeLee was about a month old, she had a blowout in the car and I went to change her in the waiting room and forgot the wipes!! Haha.... random story, but it just popped up...

Anyway, back on track here..... KaeLee discovered static today! And how to climb up onto the couch. (With mommy's cleverness of stacking pillows and blankets so she is tall enough) She has been hanging out on the couch most of the day, reading her books and caring for her dollies. And rubbing her head along the back of the couch! Haha. It has been wuite entertaining to watch her today. Her hair has been making me crack up all day! It has definitely been a great day, with minimal shouting... haha. I wanted to get her her own little couch for Christmas (they make ones that fold out into a bed... so cute!) but they never went on sale and I thought she may have been too young, but now I definitely want to get her one, knowing how much she loves the couch. Between the couch and her 30 minutes of daily Barney, she has been very entertained today! My goodness, she loves Barney! It's fun to watch her watch it! She sways back and forth to the songs and points and laughs at them and trys to sing along. It's super cute!

I went to Toys R Us with KaeLee this last weekend while Shawn stayed home with Hannah.... we both (me and KaeLee) needed to get out of the house. Well, her first trip to Toys R Us..... it went well and she absolutely LOVED it!! She was really quiet and shy the whole time. People would talk to her and she woujld get all shy. Every once in a while she woulud point to a toy and say something, but was pretty quiet otherwise. Until we turned the corner to go down the doll aisle! Haha. It was like she just ate a pound of sugar pills! She saw all the dollies and immediately started "talking" a mile a muinute, pointing and smiling. My goodness! It was super hilarious!! She loves her dollies! She did start to get frustrated because I would hand her one and she would grab it, but it was stuck to the cardboard box, and she wasn't loving that. Silly girl!

I took the girls for their first walk today. We don't have a double stroller that Hannah is big enough for yet, so I had Hannah in the front pack and KaeLee rode in her car. It was a success! And there were lots of other people out walking since it is spring break for the kids this week. So KaeLee enjoyed the people watching. It wasn't completely nice outside.... a little windy and overcast, but I can't wait for nicer weather (not hot though!) so that we can walk down to the school and go on the swings and the slide... KaeLees's never been on a slide before!

Well, it's 6:00 now, Shawn is still not home.... said he will be home later tonight... hmmmm.... wonder what time that means... Hannah is sleeping, laying on my chest, and KaeLee is on the couch, babbling away to her dollies, and reading them books. I would get up and make some dinner, however, I think it's a good night for some leftovers.... :) Oh, what I would give for a shower right now..... :) Or a nap.... Well, my time on here is up.... I will write again soon (hopefully)

Rough Day

Today has been the toughest since Shawn has gone back to work so far. Either Hannah or KaeLee or both have been screaming all day today. Ugh. And the last 2 nights I don't think I have gotten more than 3 hours of sleep! Hannah has not slept but an hour today and normally she sleeps all day and is only awake for about an hour! Luckily, KaeLee is taking another nap right now, though that means she will be awake till who knows how long tonight! And Hannah has finally fallen asleep, but I can't put her down or she will wake up! So I am talently typing this out, computer and baby on my lap.... haha.

On a side note.... KaeLee and I were watching Sesame Street yesterday (okay, no, Shawn and I were watching Sesame Street while KaeLee ran from room to room and stopping to watch about 30 seconds at a time....) and I decided what her eyelashes remind me of. Snuffleupagus on Sesame Street! haha. If you haven't seen him or if it's been a while, they are so long that even when his eyes are open, his eyelashes hang over his eyes like hair! haha. I thought it was prettyu funny anyway.

Today I put Hannah in the swing. I have been delaying this action till now in fear of what KaeLee wil ldo to her and how hard she will push it.... but she actually did amazing! She was super gentle and swung her very nicely. This went on for about 15 minutes (maybe longer) and then I realized that KaeLee stunk and desperately needed a diaper change! Yeah,. this was the beginning of our battle today! She did NOT want to stop pushing Hannah in the swing! I decided it was definitely nap time! Ugh. That was annoying. Not sure I want to deal with that one again.... but she WAS awefully cute while she was pushing her. I tried to take a video, but she wouldn't stay where she was and only wanted to grab the camera.

Well, I want to start making dinner, but Hannah is glued to my arms. Maybe I'll take a quick nap.... bye for now!

New Pictures Finally!

Thursday, March 18, 2010

I have been meaning to post new pictures for forever now, but am finally getting to it. KaeLee's toys are not getting picked up and I am not taking a nap, but I will sacrifice those things for you all so that you can see new pictures of our beautiful girls. I will have to try and be fast though because KaeLee (or Hannah) could be waking up anytime now, since I didn't sacrifice my shower.... haha.

Anyway, these last couple weeks have been nuts-o!! It has been interesting getting used to another baby in the house. KaeLee has definitely gotten much better around Hannah and is getting used to her. She is becoming much of a helper. When Hannah loses her pacifier and fusses for a second, KaeLee is quick to say uh-oh and point to Hannah. Though, when the pacifier is in her mouth, she wants to try and take it away from her. She is also helpful because when we are cooking something either in the microwave or the oven, whenever the timer goes off, she repeats "uh-oh, uh-oh" while running into the kitchen pointing to the oven. It's quite funny! She does it every time, but I still laugh every time because she is so darn cute!

Of course, she isn't always so cute! She has learned how to throw quite a tantrum and has thrown Shawn and I for a loop! We don't know where she got the idea to even try and throw herself on the ground and start kicking and screaming. Daycare maybe? Or is this just something that all toddlers are programmed with??? Well, it sure is frustrating and hard to deal with! Shawn is really nervous about when she turns 2 if this is the kind of tantrum she can throw NOW! haha. We are trying our best to be patient with her instead of just throwing her out the window.... haha.... NO, we would never do this. Just think it. ;-)

Hannah has changed so much in the last week and a half already, it's crazy! She sure is beautiful. People say she looks just like KaeLee, but I don't think she really does. I suppose she does look like her, but there are so many differences that I can't really actually point out what about them is the same..... hmmmmm...... KaeLee: no hair when born, huge eyes, long eye lashes, normal cheeks, normal chin, really white skin..... Hannah: lots of hair (dark, not light like KaeLee's is now), little eyes, normal eye lashes, chubby chubby cheeks, a butt chin, beautiful olive skin tone..... just a few of the differences. Oh well, they are both the prettiest babies ever!

Hannah sure does spit up a bunch though! That's something I'm not used to since KaeLee never spit up. I am going through a lot of clothes and receiving blankets through the day because of it and really should have a bib on her at all times.

My recovery is going very well! This time around was 100 times better in healing terms. I am practically not sore at all anymore and can move and function perfectly fine! Whoo-Hoo! With KaeLee it took the full 6 weeks to heal and I still had problems and issues that lasted till May! So I am VERY thankful for that!

Shawn went back to work on Monday. I was really nervous to be with the gils by myself for the first time, especially since KaeLee had been throwing fits and tantrums, but God has been gracious and she has been AMAZING all week!! She has still thrown some tantrums, but luckily she at least waits until Shawn gets home..... hahaha.

I forget how boring babies are though. I am anxious for the next 6 months to fly by so that Hannah can be down on the ground, moving around and let her personality shine. Right now she is either eating or sleeping. She's not awake very often, but when she is, it sure is fun to just stare at her. And getting glimpses of her smiles are always a blessing. She's so pretty.

I used to laugh when I watched Jon and Kate Plus Eight and Kate would describe her daily routine as "make a meal, serve a meal, clean up a meal. Make a meal, serve a meal, clean up a meal. Make a meal, serve a meal, clean up a meal." But now I understand how she feels. Not that I have 8 kids the same age, but here's a recap of a typical day of mine:

KaeLee wakes up, change KaeLee, Make Breakfast, Feed KaeLee, Hannah wakes up, change Hannah, feed Hannah, clean up KaeLee, change Hannah, play with KaeLee, prepare snack, feed KaeLee, change Hannah, clean up KaeLee, change KaeLee, nap for KaeLee, feed Hannah, nap for Hannah, me shower, me eat lunch, pick up the toys, do the dishes, check facebook, pay some bills, pump, KaeLee wakes up, change KaeLee, make lunch, feed KaeLee, Hannah wakes up, change Hannah, feed Hannah, clean up KaeLee, play with KaeLee, change KaeLee, prepare snack, feed KaeLee, change Hannah, feed Hannah, clean up KaeLee, play with KaeLee, change Hannah, attempt to start making dinner, prepare KaeLee's dinner, change KaeLee, feed KaeLee, change Hannah, feed Hannah, Shawn comes home, he cleans up KaeLee then takes Hannah, I finish making dinner, finish feeding Hannah, give KaeLee another snack while we eat dinner, I take Hannah so Shawn can play with KaeLee, Shawn takes Hannah, KaeLee and I go get the mail, bath time for KaeLee, change Hannah, Hannah eats again, Shawn takes Hannah, we watch a tv show, change Hannah, feed Hannah, mommy and Hannah go to BED!!!

Haha.... hope you could follow that. Of course, there are other random things that happen throughout the day and lots of other diaper changes and clothes changes..... but this is the typical day for me.... pretty exhausting!

Anyway, bedtime has become the battle in this household. I mention that because Shawn is currently attempting to put her to bed. (No, I didn't get the blog done during their naptime.... BOO!) This whole week she has been fighting bedtime and has been waking up in the middle of the night. More than once. It's definitley frustrating. Hopefully it passes soon!

I don't think there is anything else too exciting too talk about. We look forward to watching Hannah grow up and watching her and KaeLee become friends and can't wait for her to get olf enough to start running around and playing with KaeLee! And I can't wait till they are eating the same things at the same time and can go to the bathroom on their own.... haha. But for now, we will continue to make 3 dinners, change 20 diapers a day and pray that we will make it through the week with sanity.

Here are some pictures. Mostly of Hannah, but a few random ones of KaeLee from the past few weeks as well. hope you all are doing great. Oh, random fact I heard and thought was pretty funny! This week is the week where vasectomys are most scheduled over any other week in the year. It increases by 50%. Why, you may ask..... because men want to take their three days of healing off the of work to watch March Maddness. Haha. I thought that was pretty funny. That way they have a doctors note for a reason to stay home and don't have to waste their vacation time. Haha. Anyway, goodnight, yall.

KaeLee on her horse!

Hannah.... SO cute!

I was feeding Hannah and heard KaeLee talking a lot of jibberish and a random "wow!", so I looked over to the other room and found her sitting at her table reading a book! Haha... it was SO cute! I had to get a picture! That girl cracks me up! She's gonna be like her momma and love reading! (Hopefully it lasts longer than high school though!)

KaeLee watches TV for the first time..... I turned Barney and Friends on for her and she was glued. She wouldn't even turn towards me when I would call her name. She would stand in front of it just staring and then when they started to sing and dance, she would stomp her foot right along with them. It was hilarious. I have now started recording Barney every morning and will be using them when she starts getting whiny or when I need her to play by herself while I feed Hannah.... :) YAY!

SHE'S HERE!

Well, Hannah arrived an hour and a half past her due date! She was born at 1:34am on March 9th, 2010. She weighed in at 7 lbs 6 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Labor was short thankfully, because I didn't get any drugs till about 15 minutes before she was born.... haha. It was very painful, but she came quick.

My contractions came at about 8:00 yesterday morning, then they went away by noon pretty much, coming only randomly. Then they came back at 7:00, every 20 minutes. I decided that it would be a while, so I drove up to my mom's to watch the Bachelor. (Like I do every Monday night...). Well, as soon as the show started, they started being 10 minutes apart, then by 9:00 they were about every 6-7 minutes.... so we called Shawn and he got the bags ready and my dad took my car to go get him and KaeLee. KaeLee spent the night at grandma and grandpas while Shawn and I headed to the hospital.

The hospital was a joke as soon as we got there! We had to wait in the waiting room for an opend observatory room for a half an hour! Then once we got in there, nobody came in for another 20 minutes. Then when she checked me, I was 5-6 cm. I started to worry, thinking I wasn't going to get an epidural in time! Then we finally got a room and contractions were strong! Ugh. Then I asked again about an epidural and they said they need to start the IV first and let it run for about a half hour! AHHHH!!!! Then it took FOREVER for them to get the IV in. It took 4 different people and about a million pokes and different places they tried. Ugh. Then they finally got it and the doctor got here and asked if I had the epidural, knowing I wanted it and when they said no, he was quite upset and annoyed. You could tell for sure. He made them give it to me (thank you Dr Harrington!) but the guy took 3 different tries and took absolutely forever! All during this, I am suppose to be staying still and relaxing my body! HA! They finally got it in and I had to push really bad!!! She came out during one contraction.... 2 or 3 pushes. Whoo Hoo!!

Then her temperature was low, I guess, so they waited before giving her a bath. Well, actually, first, they took about 45 minutes before they came up to weigh her and measure her. Then it took another hour and a half before they came back for her bath. I actually had to call the nurse and be like "uh, are they going to give her a bath and wrap her up?" And she said oh, we have all night, not in a hurry.... And I was like "uh, yeah, we don't want to wait all night though!" I was super annoyed. Oh, and the fact that they wouldn't let my Aunt up to the room when she got here. That was annoying too! Ugh. Anyway, enough complaining, I suppose.... she's here and healthy and beautiful!

IT'S GO TIME!

Well, it's GO time! We will be heading to the hospital here shortly. My contractions are about 5 minutes apart now. Whoo-Hoo! We will try to keep you all updated. I think Shawn packed the laptop.... haha

Okay, another contraction's coming.... gotta go!

Another day with no Hannah...!

Friday, March 5th 2010

Well, I just noticed something on the blog that is bothering me! It doesn't post the date that I wrote the blog, just the time. That's weird. I checked the settings and layout and it says that it should show the date, but.... it doesn't. Anyway, it's annoying me and I'm not sure how to fix it. Until I do, I suppose I will just write the date at the top of each blog.... haha

Well, glancing at the calendar to write the date, I notice that today would have been my Grandma Sauve's Birthday. Perhaps KaeLee and I will have to take some flowers out to her grave today. I can't believe that it has been, what, 5 years, since she passed away. Maybe 6? Hmmmm.... I think it was 2004 actually.

Anyway, I am pretty much not excited anymore for Hannah to get here and am just plain annoyed that she NOT here yet! Ugh. I have just wasted an entire week of maternity leave!! Thinking for sure that she would be born in February, I told my work I would work up till March 1st. Hmmmm.... now if I have the baby today, I am down to only 8 weeks off. I suppose that's more than I took off with KaeLee (I had 6 weeks with her). But she also didn't go straight into daycare either. Tara watched her on the few days I worked during the week until she was 6 months old. I am hoping that I can work it out again to where Hannah won't start daycare until she is 6 months old either. I have a few different options.....

Anyway, yesterday I was a bit too productive and am quite sore today! I made zucchini bread (YUMMY!) and did 5 loads of laundry, the usual of picking up/ cleaning up after KaeLee 5 times, made dinner (okay, Shawn barbecued steaks.... all I did were the potatoes and green beans...), went for a walk with KaeLee, and did some picking up upstairs. It doesn't actually seem like too much when it's down on paper, but oh my! It did yesterday when I was on my feet all day! Either on my feet or on the floor playing with KaeLee... haha. I was sure that the baby would come today because of how great I felt yesterday and how much energy I had! HA! So much for that, eh?

Today she took a 3 hour nap! I was pleasantly surprised. I could've watched a movie! Or taken a bath! But I never know how long she's going to sleep, so it's hard to plan on doing anything that takes a while. Instead, I showered, made a lasagna, paid a couple bills, talked to a couple people on facebook, picked up KaeLee's toys, did the dishes and ran the dishwasher. Ugh. My feet hurt. Now KaeLee is eating lunch while I "supervise" then I get to clean up after her and then I'm sure she'll be begging me to play with her. So much for just sitting down and doing nothing. Haha.

I can't wait for Shawn to get home tonight! For one, it is the weekend, so he will be home the next couple days, and two, we have Survivor, Chopped and Kitchen Nightmares to watch! And maybe he'll help me paint KaeLee's bench this weekend so her room can FINALLY be complete! Then I can take some pictures and show you. Though, you'll probably see it in person before that actually gets accomplished.

KaeLee is done eating and clean up is done. Shhe is playing good by herself at the moment, but I better get going before she starts whining and noticing I'm not paying attention to her! She's so high maintenance! ;-) not a very exciting blog, I know, but I was bored....! Well, I will write later, I'm sure.

Doctor update

So nothing has changed much. He said I might be 1-2 centimeters dilated, but not too much different than last week. Ugh. At least I didn't gain any weight this week! My 3 pounds last week was enough for both weeks! I have another appointment scheduled for next Wednesday and he said if I make to that appointment we will talk about inducing labor. Dr. Harrington is known for not liking to induce labor for his patients though. He likes things to happen naturally. So, I have to be a week late, at least, for him to induce me.

While I was at the hospital for my appointment, I pre-registered (so that I wouldn't have to fill out a bunch of paperwork while having contractions.... haha) and I asked them more about the visitors policy. They only sign in 2 people to a room at once. So if 2 people (besides Shawn) are already on their list as visitors, they won't give out a visitors pass until they have returned theirs. This sucks because I am not sure how we will know if someone is waiting downstairs to visit..... unless you call us or something. And, until I have the baby, my mom and most likely my Aunt will be in the room with us like they were with KaeLee. So I won't be able to have any visitors before she is born. (Not that you would want to see me huffing and puffing during contractions anyway.... haha) So again, I think that if you can wait until we are at home to visit, it will be better because then you will actually be able to spend some time with us and sit in more comfortable chairs while doing so.... :)

Well, we're gonna start watching American Idol I guess.... we're still trying to finish last nights show first. 5 hours a week is really too much! Have a good rest of the week and I will be sure to update as soon as something happens. Oh and in case you are expecting a call when I go into labor, we are going to do what we did last time with KaeLee.... we will call our parents and let them call anyone else who wants to know. 4 phone calls on the way to the hospital is about all we can make before we get there... haha. Goodnight everyone.

New Hospital Visitor Policy

So Hannah's still not here yet. Another doctor appointment today.... ugh. I was hoping that last week's was the last one for sure! I have now been pregnant longer with Hannah than with KaeLee. My mom was gracious enough to remind me the other night that I was her second child and came a week late. Gee, thanks, mom! At this rate, we'll have a St. Patrick's Day baby! haha. Oh, I would die if that happened! I just hope that she's small so that we can use these newborn diapers that are already opened and these new newborn clothes I've (and other people) have boughten for her! Haha.

So, I just wanted to let everyone know the hospital's new policy on visitors. I think I've mentioned it before, but I don't want people to feel like they have to visit us at the hospital. You are certainly welcome to wait until we get home from the hospital to visit since the rules are not so nice. Our feelings won't be hurt a bit and you would be able to visit longer. So, the policy is only 2 visitors at a time between 9am and 6pm (I think those are the hours anyway. it may still go to 8:00pm). You have to check in at the front desk and tell them what room you are going to and get a visitors pass. I am not sure exactly how it works, but I know they only allow 2 visitors at a time, so if they already have 2 people checked in as visitors, I'm not sure if they will give out more badges and let you go up, hoping the others will leave when you get into the room, or if you would have to wait until they turn in their visitors badges before they give you one. Not completely sure. But I do know that KaeLee will be visiting me and when she is there, that means there will be at least one visitor in the room already, allowing only one other person.

I am not telling you this to deter visitors, because I do want you all to come visit for sure and to see Hannah! I just don't want you to be surprised by the new policy and be upset. Or, for some of you, make a long drive and then not be able to visit very long, or have to wait if there are other people. So if you wait until we are back home, you would know for sure that you could come in and you can stay for as long as you want..... okay, so I may get cranky after about 12 hours of visitors.... hahaha. But, really, we are looking forward to seeing you all and showing off Hannah!!

I will do an update later today (or maybe tomorrow) from my appointment this afternoon. I'm hoping (okay, maybe dreaming) that he will tell me I am dialated to 4 cm and I can head over to the hospital. Haha.

KaeLee gets to go play with Hayden and Heather today while I go to my appointment, so I know she will love that! Poor thing has had a cough the last few days and is causing her to wake up several times a night, practically choking on her spit. Poor girl. And there's not a whole lot we can do for her, which is the worst part.

Feeding her is still pretty much a nightmare. Takes a lot of patience that I don't usually have. She is just frustrating because she refuses to allow you to feed her. AT ALL! She won't even let me put some food on the spoon and then hand it back to her. She throws the biggest fit ever if you even come near her and her food while she's "eating". ugh. And my oh my.... THE MESS! I feel like that's all I do now, is clean up. Clean up toys, food, the floor, laundry, her highchair..... And this all occurs about 5 times a day. What do I do in between these times? Change her diaper, put her down for a nap, make breakfast, lunch or dinner for myself (then have to clean up after myself as well...), do laundry, do the dishes.... ugh. Have I ever mentioned that I HATE cleaning?!?!?! haha. Now that's all I do. Can I just tell you how EXCITED I am to have another one to clean up after? ;-)

I have a pork roast in the slow cooker today.... yummy! I am so excited for pulled pork sandwiches tonight! And tomorrow night's menu is steak and potatoes.... YUMMY! I can't wait! Sorry, I just smelled the pork and got excited and had to share.

Anyway, KaeLee is napping and I really need to get this place picked up while I have the chance and grab something to eat while she's still sleeping.... I will update you all later with any news I get from my doctor's appointment. Have a great Wednesday!
