Halloween!!!

Halloween 2010!

Well, Halloween is gone.  And so is the 50 pounds of candy we bought!   We didn’t keep track of how many trick-or-treaters we had this year, but I’m sure it was around 150.  Nowhere near our 268 last year!  We weren’t home for a while because we took KaeLee to a few houses for her first peek of trick-or-treating!  She LOVED it!  It was so much fun watching her.  She loved to look at all the other little kids as we passed each other down the street.  And she attempted to enter every house that we trick-or-treated at.  She is not afraid of making herself at home!  Haha.  We are going to have to have some serious “stranger danger” talks later!

I think, though, KaeLee liked handing out the candy to kids who trick-or-treated at our house better than actual trick-or-treating.   She caught on quick and was soon grabbing handfuls of candy and plopping them into kids’ bags.  The kids who got the treat of KaeLee giving them candy were sure blessed!  They would turn around and say “wow!  Mom!  I got HANDFULS!”  haha.  It was great!  But KaeLee wasn’t as quick as most of the kids.  She would grab a handful and turn around to give it to them, but they were already back down by the sidewalk after I gave them a couple pieces.  She would then proceed to stand there, holding out her handful of candy, looking for them.  It was pretty funny.  Towards the end of our trick-or-treating night, one little one came to the door (after it had not rang in a while) and I opened it, and heard a screeching “WAIT!” from the other room.   KaeLee came running, dipped her hand into the bucket, got two big handfuls and plopped them into his bag, saying “here ya go!” haha.  She definitely cracked us up that night!

The pumpkin patch was pretty fun.  A little disappointing though.  I miss the days where you take the hay ride to the pumpkins, pick yours out, load back up onto the hayride, and head back to the “farm”.  Then you can squeeze your very own apple juice and watch them make apple cider.  Then choose from all the goodies made of apples and pumpkins and everything else.  Oh, the good ole days.  I told Shawn it  makes me want to start my own pumpkin patch so kids have a great experience to go to each year.  He just gave me the “you are crazy” look.  The same look he gave me last year when I told him I wanted to start a tree farm for Christmas.  Haha.

Well, we are currently on vacation!  Enjoying our stay here at Wapato point up at Lake Chelan.  This whole 2 bedroom condo thing is a GREAT way of vacation!  I couldn’t imagine doing this in a hotel!  The girls have been napping for over 2 hours now!  Then we will have some lunch and head to the pool and enjoy a walk down to the lake and the playground.  It is nice to not have any plans and just enjoy ourselves.  Here are some pictures.  30-some pictures!  Sorry, there were so many and I couldn’t narrow it down any slimmer!

KaeLee loves to put lotion on Hannah's head.  And hannah loves it when she does!

Carving pumpkins.... or at least sorting the seeds for my roasted pumpkin seeds!  YUM!!  And look!  I wore gloves this year so I did have red, blistery, itchy hands when I was done! YAY!

Hannah is now walking behind things!  I have moved my "walking" prediction from Christmas to Thanksgiving!

I let KaeLee "explore" the texture of the slimy seeds..... at first she wasn't so sure, but she grew to love it and wanted to do it again, and again and again.  And yet again.  haha.  That's my favorite part too!

KaeLee is a great mommy and makes sure that all her dollies have bibs on them before feeding time!

Our cute little ducky!

Our girls by the pumpkins!  It only took us about 8 shots to get this one!  haha  KaeLee's pumpkin is hiding though

KaeLee's first house!

Headed to the second house.... not so sure what we are doing yet....

Our pumpkins!

KaeLee apparently didn't get her bucket filled enough and is caught stealing candy from our big bin to fill it up!

A little out of order.... but she's ready for trick-or-treating!

A pretty little fairy!

This was what it looked like once she finally got the candy out of the bin and went to the door to give it to the kids, but they were already gone and she just stood there like this for a while before we finally told her to shut the door and wait for the next one....

Hannah got caught getting into KaeLee's candy bucket!  Uh-Oh!

Also a little out of order.... but KaeLee got the hang of the whole trick-or-treating thing and as you can see by her face, LOVED it!
