We had a great weekend and went to the zoo on Friday. The girls loved it! KaeLee's favorite part was the goats! Hahaha. She also liked the pink flamingos and a little monkey in one of the buildings.
After the zoo, we headed to Camano Island to visit with Shawns family. We had a great time and the girls kept us quite entertained!
We went to a park on the island and it was a lot of fun. KaeLee really liked it. She loved the slide and the swings. The little houses were cute too. It was a really nice playground and only a couple months old I believe. On Saturday, we celebrated Jon and Shawn's birthdays. It was the first birthday party without Alyssa (Shawn's sister). Alyssa's birthday is August 20th, and Jon and Shawn's are both on August 26th, so the birthday party has always been for all three of them. Alyssa was missed though!
On Sunday, Loretta wanted to take a picture for her christmas cards. She decided to dress the girls up as Angels, so Christina and I made angel wings and halos and then Monday morning we attempted a photo shoot. haha. Hannah was a lot more willing than KaeLee, of course. Then we brought the dog out and KaeLee started being okay and smiling a bit, but Hannah saw the dog and stopped smiling and wouldn't crack a smile for nothin! haha. So I am not sure what kind of miracles Randy can work when he makes the final picture, but we will see how it turns out, or if she uses them at all.... haha.
We headed back on Monday morning, skipped the going home part, dropped the girls off at my mom's house and Shawn and I ran into town for some crown moulding, gutters, paint and a few other things for the house. We wanted to get it before the sale on the paint ended and we assumed that, being a holiday weekend, Lowes would have 12 months no interest. So we got everything we needed, ended up saving 50% on most of the moulding (all the 8 footers we bought and a few nicks in them and we asked for a markdown and she gave us 50% off! Nice, huh?!) And we found out that instead of 12 months no interest, they were doing a special promotion of 18 months! Awesome!! I'm sure it'll be paid off in a few months anyway, but the idea of 18 months makes it even better! We went back up to my mom's and had dinner, went home, gave the girls a bath and followed to bed shortly after! Whew! We were exhausted! That was a very long day!
Tuesday, the girls slept most of the day! haha. This made it really nice for me since I was still wiped out too! I got the fireplace painted this week, but not after dropping the open can of paint all over the carpet. Yup. All over the carpet! Ugh. I was so frustrated. After trying to clean it for over a half hour and yelling at KaeLee so much to stay away from it (because she just can't help but to try and help clean up a mess....), and dripping sweat from the stress of cleaning, yelling, and listening to a very tired Hannah on the floor wanting to be picked up, I pack them up and went to my mom's for a couple hours to recooperate. haha. Shawn had called saying he was going to be home from work rather late, so I knew I couldn't wait much longer for some relief... see that's another perk of living in Moxee.... just 3 minutes from mom's house... haha
Yesterday, the girls were itching to get out of the house, and apparently the walk down to the mailbox and back was just a tease for KaeLee, so we went for a walk to the other side of the development. I had planned to stop at the park, but when walking by the mother's house of a friend of mine, I saw that her car was also there, so we had to stop and say hello. Heather was there and so was her daughter, Hayden. Hayden just turned 2 last weekend. She is the little girl I watched during the day last winter on my days off. She is the cutest thing ever (okay, besides KaeLee and Hannah.... but I'm rather biased) She is such a talker and I don't think there is a word she doesn't know! She's a smart little cookie! She was so cute saying, "KaeLee! Come play with me! Come here KaeLee (yelling from the other room...)" She was very concerned when KaeLee started to put the play banana in her mouth. Hayden knows that it is not real food and told KaeLee that it's for pretend only. Haha. It was hilarious. I can't wait for KaeLee to talk in sentences. Heather says it's good and bad... haha. Heather says "Are you serious?" and "You're kidding!" a lot and naturally, Hayden has also added these phrases to her daily vocab. Heather says it's annoying at times because she says them so seriously when Heather asks her to do something. haha. I can just picture Hayden with her hands on her hips, head tilted and eyebrows scrunched.... Heather: "Hayden, can you pick your toys up please?".... Hayden: "Are you serious?!?!" "You're Kidding!!" hahaha.... that definitely makes me laugh out loud!
Well, I am at work now, otherwise I would post a few random pictures, including a few from our walk. Maybe I will remember to do it tonight. Oh, another cute thing that happened on our walk yesterday (which I just realized I forgot to tell Shawn about last night!) was that I meant to put shorts on Hannah before our walk since it was super nice outside. Okay, that's not cute.... but as soon as we were out the door and walking down the sidewalk, I looked down at the girls and noticed that Hannah had a hold of her pants and had pulled them up to her knees and she was hanging on to them. Hahaha. It was hilarious! Apparently she was trying to get a little sun on her chubby legs. Or trying to be sexy, I don't know which. It was super cute. I had to stop and take a picture of it.
I have to go to Costco after work. Ugh. At least I don't have the girls in tow, I guess. I cannot find my Costco card though and will have to get a new one today. That means it's going to be even longer of a trip.... and I haven't been to Costco in over a month, so I'm not really looking forward to the bill either. haha. But I am looking forward to having some food in the house and having something other than chicken for dinner since we've been out of hamburger for over a week now. haha.
Oh yes, I have lost my Costco card. And my drivers license. I have no idea where they are. Perhaps they are together and have been missing since I went to Costco last? I think I first noticed the missing of my license on Shawn's birthday..... and who knows how long it was gone before then.... So yesterday I finally just bought a new license online and today I will get a new Costco card. I have turned this house upside down looking for them, have searched every pocket, every inch of the van, (hmmm.... maybe it's in the car somewhere??) and have no idea where they are! I even took the dryer vent off and searched in there. Hmmmmm...... that sucks!
Now that we went to Lowes, Shawn has some work ahead of him. I also went to Fred Meyer the other day for some stuff, and found light fixtures for the bathrooms. They were $40 and that was a lot cheaper that anywhere else we have found, so I decided to just go ahead and get them. Well, the cashier had a %10 off coupon that she gave me which was super nice, so I was looking at my receipt later to see what the final cost was for them and noticed that they rang up $27.99!! Plus the %10 off! I was shocked and WAY excited! Whoo-Hoo! I love it when I come under budget! (I orignally budgeted $40 a piece for the light fixtures....) Anyway, so Shawn is full of projects. I told him I would do some of them, but I'd probably electricut myself if I tried trading out the light fixtures, and I know I would screw up the cuts for the crown moulding and I have not the slightest clue of how to hang gutters.... haha. And apparently I can't paint without adding more to the to-do list! No I will finish painting the living room at some point, but not sure when.... I guess my main job is just shopping and finding great deals, right?!?! It worked with the light fixtures and the moulding! haha. I guess cleaning is also my job. Yuck. I hate cleaning. Organizing, yes. Cleaning, no thanks.
Well, I had better get back to work now I guess. I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend and I will try to remember to post those few pictures tonight.
