Great Birthday!

Sunday, May 23

So I just wanted to share that we have now been in our house for just over 3 years. Well.... when we bought our house, our mortgage loan was a fixed rate for the first 3 years, then changes to a variable. Uh-Oh. We have been wanting to refinance for a while now, but we just haven't. Well, we just got a statement in the mail with our interest rate. As soon as I saw what the letter was, I was like, "oh, crap!" So our new interest is.........drumroll............ 2% lower than what we had! Whoo-Hoo! We are now saving $316 a month as of July 1st! I am way excited, because now we don't need to refinance and we don't have to spend a bunch of money to get the lower interest rate! Whoo-Hoo! A new vehicle in the fall is looking more promising every day now! I thought it was pretty exciting, anyway.

I had a great birthday yesterday! I had to work, but it was really slow and I worked with all fun people, so it wasn't bad at all. Marian brought a slice of cheesecake in to me and she had it decorated quite lavishly with flowers and strawberries and whip cream.... mmmmmm.... it was DELICIOUS!! We have the best cheesecake ever! (okay, so it's the one thing that we don't make and get from Costco...) haha. Friday night, Shawn and I went out to dinner at Olive Garden. My first restaurant experience in over 3 months! Whoop-ieeeee!!! It was quite delicious! In fact, I think I'll have my leftovers for lunch today! Then we went down to legends casino. We played for a long time and had lots of fun! I normally just play the penny and nickel machines, but I tried blackjack this time and it was a blast! I actually did pretty good! At one point, I had doubled my money. Overall, we were there for oever 3 hours and we came out with $21 more than we went in with! I guess that's good.... I was hosping we would have made about $20 more, then we could say we had a free date night. Haha. But it was fun and I want to go again now! :) Last night, my parents came over for cake and ice cream. Ice cream cake! Yummy! I haven't had that in forever! Yay for Dairy Queen!

Well, I am at work again this morning... I should probably get back to work. Especially if I want to try and get out of here early! Anyway, hope you all have a great rest of the weekend... I will write again soon, I'm sure. I have more to write, but should really get back to work....

New Pictures!

Here are some new pictures as promised! They sure are a couple of cuties! It is VERY hard to get a good picture of both of them smiling! I will keep trying though.... :)

So serious... haha

They were both very interested in the mobile above them...

KaeLee stole this hot sauce bottle (unopened) out of the fridge while I was getting something out and she was walking around "drinking" from it. It was quite hilarious.

Hannah's bathime.... she likes it!

This week flew by!

Monday, May 14

It seems like it's been longer than a week since I've written. This week gone by way too fast! I can't believe it's already another weekend tomorrow! And we are already halfway through May! Wow!

Well, First off, Happy Late Mother's Day to all you moms out there. I hope you all had a great day! I had to work, but all the moms on the dietary staff got a cool gift. It's one of those reuseable coffee cup (like the ones Starbucks sells... looks like a clear 24 oz drink cup) and it had a coupon for a couple free coffees at the espresso stand here in the hospital. I was pretty excited. I was super bored here at work so I took it upon myself to write happy mothers day on all the new mommies menu cards and drew them a pretty picture. Okay, not too sure how pretty they were... but owell. Anyway, after work, I went home and got to just relax and spend non-whiny time with KaeLee and Hannah which was nice. Shawn had the kitchen all cleaned up for me and he helped KaeLee make a mother's day card for me that had coupons inside for various things. Very cute. Then we went up to my mom's house for dinner. Barbequed Chicken and Steak. Yummy. It was a great day, even if I did have to work.

Being back at work really isn't as bad as I was anticipating. I don't like to work on the weekends at all but I do like the staff better on the weekends. And management only works Monday thru Friday, so it's nice to not have them breathing down your neck, making sure you're doing your job, when they don't even know what your job is! Ugh. (Obviously, this is quite annoying to me :)) I also enjoy my drives to and from work where I can turn the music up louder and drive a little more aggresive. (Okay, no... I am NOT a crazy driver - though Shawn may disagree - but when the girls are in the back, I'm always thinking about trying not to give them whiplash and try to increase my speed gradually when the light turns green.... and other little things like that.) I can just step on the gas pedal and know that no one is going to get whiplash or fly out of their carseat.... haha. It feels quite freeing to just drive your car with no one but yourself in it. It's also always nice to have the break from screaming whinny kids. Although, the night/weekend shift here is all teenagers who, I swear, complain more than KaeLee. They have more drama in their lives than I know what to do with. And since I'm the one sitting in the office of 3 chairs, they feel the need to come in, 2 at a time, to vent the woes of their lives to me. But I love to listen to them. It's really quite entertaining and I often feel like I am stuck in the middle of a reality drama show. But I love em anyway.

On Tuesday, Hannah went in for her 2 month check up. I can't believe she's only 2 months. Everyone says time flies and "I can't believe she's already 2 months!" But I feel like she's been around forever and that she should be at least 6 months old already! It's seems as though it's just dragging on and on.... haha. Yes, I know. When they get older, I look back and say 'my! How the time flies!'. And Yadda, Yadda, Yadda. For now, I feel like it's taking forever for her to get to 6 months old! Anyway, she did very well at her check up. She now weighs 11 pounds, 7 ounces. And she is 22 inches long. This puts her in the 34th percentile for her height and 66th percentile for her weight. Yup. She's a chubby one. :) I looked back at KaeLee's 2 month check up and she was 9 pounds 7 ounces (19th percentile) and 21 1/2 inches long (23rd percentile).

Another week with no teeth for KaeLee. I asked Dr. Simms about it while we were there and he just laughed. He said she must be boycotting them and just assured me they would eventualy come in. He said there are definitly teeth there, they are just taking their time to appear. He said he'll be surprised if she comes back for her 18 month appt with still no teeth. He has only seen that a few times. I guess an upside to this is that I don't have to start brushing her teeth or bringing her to the dentist just yet. KaeLee has been sleeping in all week, which has been super nice for me! She has been up at 9:30 or 10 every day this week! I was worried though because today we need to be out of the house by 9 and I was not looking forward to having to wake her up! But luckily, she woke up at 6:30 this morning when I needed her to get up earlier. Not that she needed to get up at 6:30.... 8:00 would have been just fine as well... ;)

I have some pictures to post, but since I am at work right now, I can't post them. So I will have to do that soon. I also need to get some posed pictures of Hannah soon. And KaeLee probably too. Maybe one day soon, I will try to do another homeade photo shoot with the two of them. It is a quite difficult task though! It seems that KaeLee will sit still a lot easier for a stranger than she will for me. We'll see what we can do though.

Shawn is pretty much done in the yard now, I believe. Other than just mowing and maintaining it now. It looks great. We finally took the car in yesterday to get it fixed. It's only been about 3 months or so. Haha. It was the timing belt that was broken. Bummer. But at least it will be fixed shortly and he will have the ability to haul both kids in the car and we will save some gas money with him parking his truck for a while.

Not sure if I mentioned this last time or not, but I hae recently started watching Grey's Anatomy from the beginning of the series and I am completly hooked on it and want to do nothing but watch it! I LOVE IT! I just finished the third season this morning (since Hannah decided to get up at 5am again!)

Well, I believe that is all the exciting news I have for this week. I'll post some pictures soon. And will write again later. Have a great weekend everyone! And Happy early birthday to Sue! :)

My imagination is running wild....

Wednesday, May 5

So you know how when you were a kid, you'd lay on the grass and watch the clouds, pointing out what they look like to you? Well, my imagination is going wild and I have been seeing shapes in KaeLee's poop lately..... haha. I think maybe this is a sign that I am going insane and need some socialization and adult conversation, eh? I saw a turtle today. Haha

So KaeLee has made disciplining her pretty easy. I'm not sure where she learned it, but it started a couple weeks ago when she was in the tub. She kept standing up and Shawn would tell her she needs to sit down. He said "I'm going to count to three. One. Two....." and she sat down. I laughed. Thought that was a coincidence. Well, apparently she somehow knows that we are counting to three and that 3 comes right after 2.... I think it's funny because she doesn't even know what happens after 3. (I don't even know what happens after 3...) haha. But I have used this countless times. For making her bring me my cell phone (or whatever she just grabbed that she knows she can't have), for getting out of the pantry, cupboards or fridge, to sit down on the couch, or to leave the cords alone. haha. Works wonders! I LOVE IT!

Today is Jen's birthday.... Happy Birthday Jen!

KaeLee is growing lots lately! I mentioned already that she's wearing 18 month clothes now... but she is getting tall! (okay, not TALL, but tallER) She can just about reach the counter! If there is something on the edge of the counter, she can stand on her toes and stretch up to grab it! This is BAD NEWS! The counter is the only safe haven we have to put things that we don't want her getting into. Now what will we do??? She doesn't listen worth a dime, so I can't trust her not to touch it...! Ugh.

I can't believe that it is already MAY! WOW! Pretty soon it'll be September before you know it! YES! I can' wait for September! September means that I can be done breastfeeding. It means that Hannah will be (or better be anyway) sleeping in her own room though the night. (which means I will be getting better sleep!) It means that she will be able to sit up by herself and play on a blanket on the floor. It means that summer will be OVER! I love Fall weather! It also means that school starts again and I have yet another chance of a hopefully opening in a school district. It means that if I'm still working at the hospital, the daycare will most likely have an opening for KaeLee and I can start working more during the week and less on weekends. (since I am working every weekend now). It means more, but I can't think of them all right now....

Hannah has been throwing up SO much! I know that I have mentioned it before, but I think it's become more frequent. I must go through at least 4 or 5 burp clothes a day! I am constantly doing laundry just to get clean burp clothes. I finally just bought some more yesterday. We now have about 25! Haha. I think with KaeLee we had a total of maybe 6 or 7.

My first day back at work on Sunday wasn't so bad. I am glad that I started back with just one day. This weekend I work Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It'll be tough. But it's good for me. I need to get out of the house.

(Side note: It smells very strongly like someone is smoking fish or something. Or burning weeds or something. Hmmm..... perhaps I should go check it out.... Or I could just wait till our house is in flames.... haha)

Anyway, I try to get the girls and I out of house every other day or so, (every day if the weather is nice.... which it hasn't been at all lately). Yesterday we went to Fred Meyer and got KaeLee some new pjs since she's growing so fast. Tomorrow we are going to go visit my Auntie and see how her new kitchen looks. They just did a huge remodel on their house with the kitchen, family room and back porch. I'm excited to see it. I think I am going to plan on stopping for coffee on the way out there... it sounds delicious right now.

Anyway, I mainly just wanted to share my poop visions. Sorry if it offends any of you..... Nothing else too exciting to report.

Oh WAIT! When I was at work on Sunday, Shawn said he gave Hannah some tummy time and he got up to go get the camera and came back and she was on her back! WHOO-HOO Hannah! So I was like, "so she rolled over today?!?!" And he says "does that count as rolling over?" I was like, "uh, yeah!" Of course she would wait till mommy's first day back at work! Urgh. But Shawn was pretty excited that he got to see it first (she did it again for him of course). May 2nd. She has KaeLee beat in that department!

Well then.... I must go. KaeLee is dying for some Barney time. I can feel it. I sure wish Hannah would allow me to set her down today though so that I can have some one on one with KaeLee.
