So all week, little things have happened, and I have said to myself, I need to jot that down and blog about it. So, now, I sit at my computer, knowing I need to blog something, and having nothing for you. I have failed miserably. There were some pretty hilarious stories too, I might add. Argh.
Let's see how much I can recall.....
Last Saturday we went and got our Christmas Tree! YAY! We got a different kind this year than last and I am SO happy we did! It looks so much better. I know better than to get a tree that early though, because I kill any living plant/tree/flower that comes near me. I have two thumbs. Both are farthest from the color green they can get! But we got it this early because I couldn't wait any longer. We may not have a GREEN tree on Christmas morning, but it will be pretty until then..... haha! I tried really hard to get KaeLee involved in decorating the tree, but she really could care less and was more interested in giving Hannah the ornaments so she can attempt to destroy them! Hannah is a destruction machine!! I swear God messed up and meant for her to be a boy! (No, I didn't really just say that!..... oops!) She is just going to be my little tomboy. There's nothing wrong with that though! I was a little tomboy!
One funny thing I do remember happening the other day..... KaeLee was reading books to Hannah and Hannah just started to crawl away. I was sitting at the counter, looking through my recipes for something to make for dinner. Hannah started crawling into the kitchen and KaeLee came running after her, lecturing her. She was pointing her finger and shaking it at her and she was saying, "Hannah!! blah, blah, blah, blah blah blah blah blah books blah blah blah blah...." It was hilarious. Then she left and came back with a stack of books and was plopping them down in front of her and lecturing her some more. It was hilarious. Did I already mention that? It was like she was giving her a big lecture on needing to read more....hahaha. I was trying to watch them without them seeing me and it was really hard to not laugh out loud! One of the books she plopped in front of her was her children's bible. She would take Hannah's hand and drag it over to the book and say "bible. bible. bible." Yes, I believe she wanted her to read the bible. haha.
And something else that was pretty funny (well, got quite annoying....) is that Hannah has figured out how to climb into the little coupe car. She climbs in, honks the horn, stands up (a big no no if she gets caught!), and starts screeching! She is clearly waiting for someone to come push her around. haha. So I would. Until my back can't take it anymore and I am out of breath. Then she whines some more and then she tries to get out but realizes she is stuck. She can get in, but every time she gets out, she takes the whole care down with her and ends up with it on top of her. So I have to go rescue her every time. It gets quite annoying..... I thought I would be smart and lock the door so she can't open it to get in, but that just made for one loud, frustrated girl! Not a good plan while KaeLee is trying to sleep!
Last week, the girls and I made hand print Christmas trees! It was quite the daunting task! Trying to ask Hannah to hold still long enough to trace her hands 12 times is like...... well, I don't know what to compare it to (I'm not that creative), but it's a task I wish not to repeat anytime soon. I ended up only getting 6 traced and then had to cut them out and trace those. But they ended up turning out quite beautiful, I think. My first official craft with KaeLee! Sometime this week, we are going to make angels too. (made of hand prints and footprints...) It has me quite excited to be a "stay at home mommy" full time. Well, getting there anyway. ;)
Speaking of being a full time stay at home mom and no longer working. Sunday was my last day of work and it feels quite weird. Since I ws 16 years old, there has not been a time that I didn't have a job. Well, there was a month without a job due to my place of working catching on fire.....
I have most definitely never been fired from a job. Yes, I realize that I was planning on quitting at the end of the year anyway, but I WAS technically fired. Which is complete ridiculousness and, no, I am still not over it. But I plan to make the most of my time with the girls and planned on enjoying my weekends off with my husband AND the girls, but today began my first weekend of no work and where is Shawn? He's on the other side of the mountains buying a new truck. Yup. So it's just another day with me and the girls. Except tonight I have to do bath and bed by myself...... ugh. It's hard enough with the both of us! Normally we start bath by now (it's currently 7:20pm), but they both slept late during nap and didn't get up until 4:30, so I think we will just hold off and wait till about 8. All day yesterday I thought it was Thursday and today feels like Friday with Shawn not being here. Yes, I am a bit bitter that he chose today to go get a truck. Especially since he is driving back in the dark and it has been snowing ALL day here! We have about 6 inches out there I think! Whoo-Hoo! I just check the pass report and the pass is closing at 8:00 for an undetermined amount of time. Nice. So he may have to go the long way around and go over the other two passes. They are only traction tires required (snoqualmie is chains required....). Or, with my luck, he won't come home till tomorrow, then I will have NO weekend with him. I guess if that's safer though, I'd rather him do that.
All this snow means that instead of going to visit Santa tomorrow, we will most likely go up to my mom's house and go sledding! YAY!! The girls' first snow encounter! This summer I found a couple of FABULOUS finds at a yardsale and got both of the girls snowsuits! And they were only 1 or 2 dollars each. I can't remember which. But I was in Fred Meyer a couple weeks ago and was looking at the ones they had..... they wanted $75 for ONE snowsuit!!! WHAT?!?!!??! Sorry, but that is just ridiculous! If I had to pay that, I don't think my girls would get to go out in the snow! There is no way I would pay that! I know I am frugal, and you can call me cheap, whatever, but that's outrageous!
I was watching last night's Supernanny during the girls' nap today, and I am now contemplating giving KaeLee time-out if she does not eat her dinner. I have mentioned before that she never eats. Well, I weighed the girls the other day and Hannah was 20.3 pounds and KaeLee was 20.4 pounds. The kid on Supernanny never ate anything and only ate the snacks (much like KaeLee!) and the little boy has anemia now because of his diet. Now, granted, my daughter doesn't eat junk for her "snacks" as this little boy. She has relatively healthy foods...... (being a nutrition major, I can't help but keep the sweets away from her.... and have gotten a lot of flak from people about it!) Anyway, it worked for this little boy, and he now eats his dinner without too much whining and actually seems to enjoy it. But for him, it was more of a control issue.... so I am not sure how KaeLee would respond to it. She eats some things and she eats someTIMES, but not enough. Anyway, just pondering my thought out loud......

Okay, it's now 9:15. Bath is done. Both girls are finally in bed and fast asleep. If you haven't guessed by now, Shawn is not coming home tonight. He is staying in Camano Island with his grandparents for the night and says he will drive back first thing in the morning. Urgh. I knew that I was fine with him going to get a truck today, but I was under the impression that he had the truck basically picked out and it was just a matter of making the deal. But apparently it was much more than that since it took all day. Oh well. I'm taking the girls sledding tomorrow regardless of whether he's here or not. Well, that is, if it doesn't rain tonight and freeze it all. That might not be as fun. Is that heartless of me to say that? Hmmm.... well, oh well. We missed the last chance of sledding because he was over at the Seahawks game. So I don't want to miss this one because who knows how long it'll last or if we will have more? You never know.
Anyway, I guess I should move on and get some pictures loaded. I have a feeling this will take a while. There are a million of the same pose and I need to sort through them. Good thing I turned on It's A Wonderful Life. What a GREAT movie, that is! That's one thing Shawn wouldn't let me watch if he were home tonight! haha. He's hates watching Christmas movies with me! Ba-humbag! That's what I told him last night when I asked if he wanted to watch one. haha.
Enjoy the pictures and have a great Sunday! Go Seahawks!
.................................. so the pictures are taking WAY too long to upload, so they will have to wait till tomorrow.... sorry! I tried for about an hour though! Goodnight everyone!
Through this fun post, I am just really grateful for the opportunity for you to be a stay-at-home mom! Sometimes those ways are not our ways (fired), but God does get to use even the bad for good. :)
